In this project I am going to take photos of my friends to re-create different types of passports, some being the usual kind of passport photo, with no smiling and looking straight at the camera with nothing covering their eyes or head so they can clearly be seen. Then I am going to do another passport style photo where the person can be themselves in the photograph, they can do things such as pull faces or wear what they want, things like glasses or a hat. This will show the difference between the real passport and then another that will show what the person is actually like in their day to day life.

To make sure I can do this to full effect I am going to use DSLR camera so that I am getting a good portrait shot of the person that I am photographing, I will get the two photos, a serious passport photo and then one showing themselves how they want, when I have collected these photos I will transfer them on to Photoshop to edit them. To make the Photoshop easier I will be taking the photo on a green screen I have set up in the classroom to make cutting the faces out easier, also I will be using light boxes to make sure that there is no shadows and you can see the faces features clearly.  

You have to have a photo of you not smiling on a passport This is because biometric facial scans typically identify 14 - 20 points on your face (edge of nose, eyes, lips, etc.) the position of your face shifts those points and it may cause difficulty in identifying who you are. This is important because if these rules were not set then fraud of identity would be much easier.

Because of this, the biometric system works best if you maintain a placid, casual look (neither frowning nor smiling).

 On Photoshop I am going to use a passport template that I have got from google images and use this for all the different passports that I will be creating, I will cut the face out of the template and make the background black so that the faces can be clearly seen, I will the cut the faces out of the photos of my friends I have taken on the green screen and transfer them onto the passport template layer, so then I can change the scale to match the size of the passport image giving it a more realistic look.

The reason for this project is to show what peoples usual passport photo looks like (straight faced no smiling, head and face not covered by things such as hats/glasses) and then a unusual passport photo of the person pulling any kind of face they want that will show their actual personality (what they liked to be seen as) this is to show the difference between the looks and personality that each individual has.
